We are Red Ant Films and Expeditions, a company founded by Kenneth Macha and Felipe Rodríguez — two friends and collaborators whose partnership has grown over more than a decade of working together on conservation initiatives in northern Tanzania.

Based in Arusha, our work connects wildlife, communities, and storytelling through ethical expeditions and audiovisual production.

Our history

 

Our journey began years ago while working together across different conservation organizations in northern Tanzania.

Kenneth Macha, working as a Community Officer, has dedicated his career to collaborating directly with Maasai communities, facilitating education programs, supporting local development, and mediating human–wildlife conflict to promote peaceful coexistence.

Felipe Rodríguez, a filmmaker and visual storyteller, has spent years documenting the extraordinary natural and cultural heritage of Tanzania. Through his work, he has supported communication teams of conservation organizations, helping to amplify their impact and make their work visible to global audiences.

 

Together, we combined our skills and experience to create a shared vision — a company that merges conservation, storytelling, and responsible travel.

Our mission 

At Red Ant Films and Expeditions, we are dedicated to:

•⁠  ⁠Promoting responsible tourism outside of National Parks, focusing on Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs), Ol Donyo Lengai, Lake Natron, and the dramatic volcanic ecosystem. 

•⁠  ⁠Strengthening community initiatives that seek to conserve biodiversity while generating sustainable economic benefits for local populations.

•⁠  ⁠Using documentary film and guided expeditions as tools to connect travelers with nature and cultures, always with respect, ethics and authenticity.
